Christmas

Luke 1:26 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said "Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.

Luke 1:31 "You will be with child and give birth to a son you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High."

Luke 2:8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you: He is the Christ the Lord."

Christmas is not more one week off and there are links on the Internet to help you appreciate Christmas, and its non commercial celebration. Go to http://www.njwebworks.net/christmas to better appreciate the Christian perspective on Christmas or http://www.njwebworks.net/christmas

For me: the best part of Christmas is Christmas carols a tradition lost to our school system because of their mention of God, salvation and our Christian beliefs. Try http://www.the-north-pole.com/carols/index.htm, go to the bottom of the page to hear the song.

Other traditions are the history, origin, and care of Christmas trees at http://www.christmastree.org/.
