Back Up Devices
The most neglected safeguard we almost always fail to do is backup our existing data and operating systems on our computers. How many times have we been caught when our computer crashes, the hard drive quits or something happens necessitating a reinstallation of everything on our computer. A backup procedure is very often overlooked and neglected either through procrastination or just plain laziness. Under either condition we lose "big time" and have to reinstall everything but at the loss of files, letters, or programs we can never recover

Linux part two
The Linux operating system has been around for 20 years and has been the realm of computer greeks , computer hobbyist, and tecnophiles. So a basic system requirement to operate Linux is: System requirements for Linux consist of an Intel-compatible 386 computer with at least eight megabytes (MB of RAM and a 250 MB or larger hard drive. A 3.5" floppy drive is preferred to the older 5.25" style. Although most 386's don't have CD-ROM drives, one would be useful for installing Linux (if you don't want to download it and put it on floppy disks). You can get by with less RAM and hard disk space, but such systems tend to be limited and are often designed for a specific task
Linux in the Office
Recently, a number of office software suites have become available under Linux. StarOffice (www.staroffice.com) is a large package (about seventy megabytes) but is well worth the time spent downloading. There is also a "Deluxe" version available for sale online (US$39.95 plus shipping). The deluxe version provides an installation CD, a printed installation manual, and a printed user's guide, which are unavailable in the download able version.

At present this PGP encryption can only be used by those in the USA and Canada. To find out more about the politics of PGP go to http://www.crypto.org
Patch for faster Internet connection?
In practice the speed advantage of cable over ADSL is much lower than might first be apparent. Both cable modem and ADSL performance vary from one minute to the next depending on the pattern of use and traffic congestion on the Internet.
