Tired of all the pop-up ads; the constant security updates for you Microsoft Explorer browser; or spyware problems? With 90% of the Internet surfers forced to install Microsoft Explorer as their default browser it is not surprising that the Internet Explorer series has been ongoing targets for people who want to ruin your Internet experience or pester you to buy their products, or sell the information they obtain (through spyware) to third party companies so you can be pestered with more junk mail, phony offers and out right scams.

Get your free browser, Fire Fox 1.0, from the folks that brought you Netscape at www.mozilla.org."Some eight million people downloaded preview versions of Firefox in the months leading up to the 1.0 release, and their feedback helped refine the browser into a very slick package indeed" (SitePro news)

Firefox 1.0 has eschewed the insecure Active X controls (a favorite of Microsoft) and utilized the more secure and universal languages of XUL and Javascript for greater cross browser compatibility. It provides you with a tabbed interface (great for surfing multiple web pages). Just right click on the tab and you are there. A Live Bookmark makes receiving RSS-syndicated feeds a snap, eliminating the need for another specialized reader. Popup ad blocking was first provided in Firefox and not as an afterthought as it was in Microsoft. A really nice feature is the "download" tool for files in Firefox. You can always find the file's location after you have finished the download (which Firefox nicely tells you)
